? ? 莫來石是一種 耐火原料，它具有膨脹均勻、熱震穩定性極好、荷重軟化點高、高溫蠕變值小、硬度大、抗化學腐蝕性好等特點，目前主要有高純電熔莫來石、普通電熔莫來石、全天然鋁礬土精礦燒結莫來石和輕燒莫來石。莫來石是AI203-SI02元系中常壓下很穩定的二元化合物，化學式為3AI203-2SI02。天然的莫來石非常少，通常燒結法或電容法等人工合成。
? ? 化學式:3Al2O3·2SiO2。無色。含雜質時帶玫瑰紅色或藍色。斜方晶系，成柱狀或針狀晶體。熔融溫度約1910。在煅燒粘土、高鋁質原料和陶瓷時生成。是粘土磚、高鋁磚和瓷器等的主要組分。產于蘇格蘭的莫爾島等地。也可用電熔法制得。參見藍晶石和紅柱石。 1800時仍很穩定,1810 分解為剛玉和液相。
